Missing Wedding Gift

After the affair was over and we opened all the gifts, we realized we didn't have one from a close relative. How do we tactfully find out if one was given?

If it was lost and a check was involved, we would want to tell them so they could stop the check.

Our Thoughts

Honesty is the best solution to this question. I would simply call the relative involved and first let them know that the gift truly was their presence.

Then follow-up with being concerned if there may possibly be a card missing, stressing the card so that they do not think you are solely looking for a monetary gift.

Always trend lightly on this subject, but be very sincere and honest.
