Give A Memorable
Best Man Wedding Speech

Being chosen as the best man means having to give a best man wedding speech (in addition to organizing a kick-butt Bachelor party). For some this is not a big deal, but for others the thought of standing up in front of a crowd makes their stomach turn.

We are going to do our best to help you be as prepared as possible when it is your turn to stand up and speak about the bride and groom.

The most phenomenal speeches we have heard at weddings have a few things in common:

1) You could tell that the best man was honored to be there.

2) He spoke from his heart.

3) No inside jokes were used that no one understood.

4) They didn't read the speech word for word from note cards.

Even though it may seem like a long time, a few minutes goes by very fast when you are speaking. For more tips on giving a great wedding speech, be sure to check out our top 10 tips for a great wedding speech.

Here is a basic outline for your best man speech:

Introduction

Start by introducing yourself to everyone. You can also throw in a quick ice-breaker joke or quote to get everyone's attention. Remember not to embarrass anyone or be offensive! It's also not a bad idea to compliment the bride on how beautiful she looks.

Body of the speech

Talk about how you met or are related to the groom, how the groom met the bride, childhood or college stories or your experiences and thoughts on relationships. You can also talk about how you have watched the bachelor fall in love and how their relationship has grown.

Ending

As you approach the actual toast where you lift your glass to the bride and groom, you may want to add in a famous quote. Then lift your glass, say your favorite salutation and drink your Champagne. You deserve it because you just gave an incredible performance!
