Addressing Wedding Invitations

Addressing Wedding Invitations

If guests are widowed, how do I address the wedding invitation that I am sending to them?

Our Thoughts

On the outside envelope of the wedding invitation, address it only to the person. If there is an inside envelope as well, this is where you can put "Mrs. Betty Smith and Guest".

Or, you could just include a small note in the invitation letting the person know she can bring a guest.

On a similar note, if you have table cards you will want to list her name and the name of her guest if she is bringing one. For example, "Mrs. Betty Smith and Mr. John Jones". Do not just put "and guest" on the table cards.
