What does DW and AHR stand for? I keep seeing them while doing wedding research and have no idea what they mean.

As with any industry, the wedding planning industry has many acronyms. Some are made up by industry professionals, and others are created on message boards by brides.

Both of the acronyms that you have asked about relate to destination weddings (DW). AHR stands for At Home Reception, sometimes known as a second or post wedding reception.
