Kids at Wedding

My mom wants an adult reception and she’s paying for it. My fiancé wants to have kids there.

I want a little of both I would rather just have no children under the age of like 16. What do I do?

Our Thoughts

Though I do understand your mom’s point of view, especially since she is footing the bill, in the end this is your wedding and you have to express what will make you happy on your BIG day.

I do think that your compromise is a great one. In this case when addressing your wedding invitations to a family with a young teen in the household it should read:

Mr. & Mrs. Jones and (Young) Jones. This clearly shows that the young person in the family is also included in the invite.

Danielle
