Jack and Jill Wedding Shower

Is it rude to ask people to go to a Jack and Jill wedding shower if they are paying to attend the destination wedding?

Our Thoughts

No, it is not rude at all. With all the uniqueness of a destination wedding event, hosting a Jack and Jill wedding shower completely makes sense.

Co-ed showers, or "Jack & Jill Showers," as they've come to be called, are all the rage these days. The couple has obviously chosen to go a non traditional route with their wedding event, so hosting a shower that incorporates both the bride, the groom and their family and friends sounds like you are headed in the right direction.

Have fun with the theme as well. Think about hosting it at a local park, a bowling alley, a minor league baseball field or other unique location.

Just always keep in mind to incorporate what the bride, as well as the groom, enjoys and loves to do making the party truly co-ed. Your guests are going to love it!

Danielle

Typically if a couple has a Jack and Jill shower they do not have another bridal shower. The point of a Jack and Jill is to involve both the bride and groom in the shower and to only do it once.

As for giving a wedding gift in addition to a bridal shower gift, proper wedding etiquette is that you should give a gift for both.

While it may be challenging to come up with a wedding gift for a couple that has it all, try to be creative. Is there a certain wine or other drink that the couple enjoys? How about a hobby?

In the end, cash is always acceptable.
