Giving of the Bride

My father is deceased and I am wondering if its best to just walk down the isle alone?

Our Thoughts

This is a very personal choice. I have had brides over the years whose fathers were no longer with them, but they were close to an Uncle or a Step-dad who they chose to walk them down instead.

Another thought is to have your mom walk you down the isle if you are close. Or, you could walk down the isle half way alone and then have your soon-to-be husband meet you half way and walk with you the rest of the way together, which is always a touching sentiment.

You could also honor your dad during your ceremony as well by having a Chair of Remembrance - an empty chair where he would have sat with a simple white rose on it in remembrance of his love and support for you both.

Regards,
Danielle
