Fall Wedding Theme

by Laurie

I am having a fall wedding and the theme is "Falling in Love". The problem is that our main color ivory because the club where we are having the reception at provides us with white or ivory color table linens only.

I always dreamed from the time that we meet each other that if we ever married I wanted the room where the reception was held to take your breath away. I am so confused over all the fall colors that I don't know what to do.

Some people are telling me to go by the way the room is decorated and use those colors. In this case the curtains are a deep sage kind of color and the decor is a creamy golden yellow color with accents of cast iron black.

Any ideas how to dress up my guest tables? I wanted to use nice table linens with toppers and chair covers with sashes. Can you help, I'm getting all colored out?

Our Thoughts

Fall is a great time to get married, and deep sage green is a great color to use for an autumn wedding theme. So, you should go with the colors of your reception space.

If you want to add a splash of color to go along with sage, try adding deep reds, burnt orange or rustic brown accents.

Is it possible to bring your own linens and chair covers in? If so, look for a local rental company that you can rent from so you can add your desired accent colors.

Take a few photos of the reception space with you when you visit the rental company, and ask them to help you pick out linens and chair covers that will add that spark of color you are looking for.

If you can’t bring in your own linens and chair covers, use your centerpieces and other decorations to add color.

Fall Wedding Colors

Fall Wedding Colors

I am having an autumn/fall theme wedding and my fall wedding colors are burnt orange and chocolate brown. I am finding that burnt orange doesn't really exist...and a lot of browns come with gold on it. Would it be okay to have chocolate brown, orange and gold accents as my colors? Also my table linens and cake are ivory. My flowers are orange with pumpkins and persimmons in the centerpieces.

Our Thoughts

Helen,

The short answer is yes, chocolate brown, orange and gold are great fall wedding colors. There are some really fun ways to tie gold into your wedding day.

For example, gold-dipped leaves make great decorations and work really well as wedding favors also.

It sounds like you have thought about all aspects of your fall wedding, so continue on the path you are going!

Fall Signature Drink Idea

(Boston)

We are getting married this fall, and we decided to go with Sangria as our signature drink. We are getting married in a vineyard, and we thought it was a nice compliment to the other wine we are serving.

Fall Wedding Centerpiece

by Jen
(Fairfax, VA)

We chose to go with a seasonal centerpiece for our upcoming fall wedding. Our florist was able to come up with a nice combination of flowers, and we chose to use hallowed out pumpkins instead of vases.

I'm still wondering if that is enough or if we need something else on our tables in addition to the pumpkins??

Our Thoughts

It really depends on the size of your tables as well as the size of the pumpkins and floral arrangements.

For smaller tables, you are probably OK. For bigger tables you could always add additional fall accent items, like colorful leaves or votive candles surrounding the pumpkins.

Remember the old rule about less being more. Don't overdo your centerpieces!
